Ø Continually seek new opportunities for this union.
Ø More extensive union education for new stewards and all members.
Ø Hold all Department of Correction Administrators accountable.
Ø Make Officer safety the top priority of this union.
Ø Have Correction Officers staff
Ø Increase shift differential and educational incentive by changing them to a percentage of our pay instead of a flat rate.
Ø Keep the M.C.O.F.U. children’s Christmas party.
Ø Reduce operating costs of this union.
Ø Work to pass the C.O. Bill of Rights in the Legislature.
Ø Make sure ALL M.C.O.F.U. members have their voices heard.
Ø Improve communication between all members, stewards and Executive Board.
Ø Bring back the union newsletter (not just at election time).
Ø I will solicit ideas from all members on important issues that affect our union. This is YOUR union, you should have a say and your voice should be heard.
Ø Make sure all union stewards have the resources and training to best represent our members.
Ø Establish a schedule so at least one Executive Board member is always available to assist members at all times including nights, weekends and holidays.
Ø Go to every institution on a regular basis.
Ø Be open and transparent in all my official duties.
Ø Always be accountable to the membership.
Ø Aggressively work for prosecution of inmates who assault staff.
Ø Provide a high level of professional representation to our members.
Ø Improve the M.C.O.F.U. website – constant updates.
